News > Azzedine Alaia Boutique Completes

09 May 2018

The new Azzedine Alaïa boutique on New Bond Street, designed for Richemont, has opened. The store, the latest in a series of international Maisons, has been designed as a showcase for the renowned couturier's fashion and merchandise, and opens just ahead of a major retrospective at London's Design Museum.

The design for the store draws on the heritage of the existing building, as well as its immediate context in New Bond Street. An elegant new timber shopfront is set into the retained and restored granite arch on the New Bond Street facade, while a restrained and minimal interior is populated by a series of bold sculptural interventions. These include a dramatic steel spiral staircase linking the three main retail levels, lighting by Marc Newson, artworks by Kris Ruhs and display elements by Pierre Paulin.

The project adds to an already extensive retail portfolio in our London studios for clients such as Fenwick, The Royal Exchange, Dunhill, Marks and Spencer, Huishan Zhang, Chrome Hearts and the Phillips Gallery and Auction House.
