Aukett Swanke designed a 'Sensation-Oriented' concept guestroom for the 2016 Sleep Event which took place on the 22nd and 23rd November at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London.

Designed to a brief by research company Sinus Milieus, the room is conceived as a complete environment, an immersive experience for a person who travels to their real life as opposed to from it. The spatial, visual, acoustic and tactile qualities of the room are carefully calibrated to invite a personal, almost emotional reponse to the space, making the guest more self-aware and present while in the room.

The video above introduces the room with a series of concept images and then segues into a timelapse video of the construction of the set, finishing with some photographs of the completed set.
