On 19th October, Robert Fry, Managing Director – International of Aukett Swanke joined the World Architecture News panel discussion at UK Construction Week on the hot topic of the day: ‘Concrete’s Back! But did it ever really go away?’

Chairing the discussion was Michael Hammond, WAN’s Editor in Chief, and sharing thought-provoking observations and opinion from the panel including Bob along with other experts in the field, Simon Anson, Associate at Arup Associates; Jason Parker, Partner at MAKE Architects, and Elaine Toogood, Senior Architect at The Concrete Centre.

Bob was one of the WAN Judges for the first ever Concrete Awards held in 2014, won by Matthias Bauer Associates for the beautiful Villa H36 in Stuttgart, accepted the 2015 Award on behalf of the winner Chiaka Arai Urban Design & Architecture for their Niigata City Konan Ward Cultural Centre in Japan and joined this year’s judges for this fascinating UK Construction Week event.
