News > WA100: Aukett Swanke placed 51st
Aukett Swanke has been placed at 51, up from 53 last year, in Building Design’s 2016 World Architecture 100, the annual survey of the world’s largest practices ranked by the number of fee-earning architects they employ.
Building Design said:
Aukett Swanke remained strong in the corporate, residential and hospitality sectors with 2015 office completions including Forbury Place in Reading and the Arcus III tower in Moscow. Highlights for 2016 include completing the first phase of the Eastside Locks development in Birmingham and the 38,000sq m Monet apartments in Moscow.
However, the practice is cautious about predicting prospects in its key European markets and is eyeing growth in the Middle East until greater stability has returned. “We see the UK and wider European markets continuing to be impacted by currency, political and automotive issues as well as refugee relocation, creating a level of volatility which is difficult to predict,” says chief executive Nicholas Thompson.
