Design for Sustainability
Working with the complex Ralph Erskine designed building we have created a beautiful working environment sympathetic with the original design intent. The primary social space of the cafe in the main atrium is extended by a series of ‘neighbourhood’ spaces on the office floors. The building consolidates three of GE’s existing offices and was delivered to a fast track programme.
The basebuild refurbishment achieved a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ assessment and SKA credits were achieved for almost 40 aspects of the fit-out including design, materials, energy, commissioning and waste management. Sustainability was a major driver of the project, including the ongoing operation and use of the working environment.
