The Bermuda Hospitals Board's brief was to design a building to support the highest quality of acute care with a strong Bermudian character for its new addition to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. Currently the largest and most complex project in Bermuda, The Bermuda Hospitals Board's required the highest international standards in excellence of design, construction and operation.
The design retains the Hospital's Bermudian ethos and the sense of 'ownership' by the people of Bermuda by combining the experience and resources of local commercial and industrial communities with British, Canadian and American partners.
The new building is in harmony with the site and surroundings while achieving high sustainability levels and providing a therapeutic environment for patients alongside exemplary working conditions for hospital staff.
