Research centre in Schwalbach / Taunus near Frankfurt. Procter & Gamble’s corporate aim for the campus style masterplan of their Schwalbach site was to establish a comprehensive strategy for progressive redevelopment. The masterplan creates a modified campus around three external landscaped courts linked by a central spine of buildings and a spinal pedestrian link.
A mix of building types are accommodated including laboratories, R&D space, offices and support functions. Car parking has been rationalised and additional spaces formed using deck parking.
The total fully implemented development would accommodate between 3,000 and 3,500 staff.
Phase One is the Technical Research Centre for 275 R&D staff. The five level, 20,000sqm building houses laboratories, technical areas and open offices orientated around a glazed atrium, and also provides conference rooms, a library, a cafeteria and a consumer interface area.
