The Victorian Grade II* Listed Grand Hall is the centre piece of the spa redevelopment. The extensive refurbishment works comprise the most radical set of alterations since the Hall originally opened in the 1880s, and include the stage / orchestra pit, proscenium and technical facilities, seating and backstage facilities.
The main entrance lobby has been remodeled to improve public facilities, and the restored caretaker's cottage provides a consolidated office suite.
Externally the urban realm has been reclaimed by removing the forecourt car park, improving an existing underground car park and the inclusion of a new lift to enable DDA accessibility.
The historic elements have been sensitively refurbished and contemporary interventions have been designed to complement the existing building fabric.
