Designing for Sustainability
Winner of the 2013 BCO Award for Best Recycled / Refurbished Building (London and South East Region), our refurbishment of this late 1970s icon is a key part of Land Securities' 2 million sqft Victoria redevelopment and was completed in Autumn 2012. Careful attention was paid to enhancing the ground floor retail, office entrances and public realm, as well as landscaping the highly overlooked roof as a 'fifth elevation'.
Core redesign and rationalisation along with a complete services overhaul has greatly improved the quality and flexibility of the office space. The facade has been completely reglazed in keeping with the original design, leading to a significant improvement in its environmental performance.
