NLA Industrial and Logistics Webinar Today

22.09.21 hybrid

Tom Alexander, Director at Aukett Swanke, will be speaking in this New London Architecture webinar today, 22 September, which explores the potential for London to support innovative industrial infrastructure and develop new hybrid places to work and live.

The industrial and logistics sector is undergoing significant growth and the COVID-19 pandemic with its online flow of goods and services has stressed its importance as essential infrastructure.

Beyond its traditional forms, emerging multi-level industrial buildings and mixed-use developments are starting to appear in urban sites to directly serve local residents. The UK logistics sector now supports 2.6 million jobs, and the rising demand could also create job opportunities for local people across London. This thriving sector presents an opportunity to build a better London and support the capital’s economic recovery by delivering jobs, protecting the environment and ensuring new homes have access to the services they need.
