Aukett Swanke is seeking an experienced Associate Interior Designer to join our growing Interiors team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished designer who enjoys leading projects and building client relationships, to work alongside the Director to manage client relationships and help deliver outstanding workplace, hospitality and commercial interiors.

You’ll lead projects from concept through completion, working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality workplace and commercial interiors.

About the role

You will:

  • Lead multiple interior design projects from concept to completion
  • Build trusted client relationships and present design concepts with confidence
  • Assist in the development of project teams, ensuring exceptional design quality
  • Manage project programmes, resources and commercial performance
  • Coordinate consultants and oversee technical delivery
  • Support business development, bids and client presentations
  • Support the Director and contribute to studio leadership, recruitment and in the development of the Interiors team and successful delivery of the Interiors portfolio

About you

You’ll be an experienced Interior Designer with:

  • Significant experience delivering commercial interior fitout projects
  • Strong design, presentation and client-facing skills
  • Excellent technical knowledge, including UK Building Regulations
  • Commercial awareness with an understanding of fees, programmes and project profitability
  • A collaborative approach and a passion for delivering outstanding design
  • Experience using Revit is highly desirable

We are hiring: Architectural Assistant (Part 2) / Recently Qualified Architect

We’re looking for an ambitious and talented Architectural Assistant (Part 2) or recently qualified Architect to join our London studio.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a collaborative practice working across a diverse range of exciting projects, where you’ll have the chance to develop your design, technical and professional skills while contributing to the delivery of high-quality architecture.

About the role

Dependent upon level of experience, you will:

  • Prepare drawings, images and presentation materials for project reviews, presentations and submissions.
  • Prepare design drawings and calculations and specifications in line with relevant building regulations and internal QA procedures and agreed drawing procedures.
  • Demonstrate the highest quality of design and presentation in project work.
  • Assemble and process tender documentation / information as directed by project leader.
  • Prepare construction drawings schedules, specifications and information in line with QA procedures and agreed drawing procedures.
  • Co-ordinate design, presentation and production information with team members, and with external consultants, suppliers and contractors.
  • Contribute to the design team meetings.
  • Attendance at site, client and other project meetings where necessary.
  • Follow and ensure and implementation of Quality Assurance procedures and company
  • Execute and take responsibility of project and administrative duties as directed by project leader
  • Provide feedback regarding the appropriateness of practice procedures

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has strong design, drawing and communication skills.
  • Has a solid technical foundation with excellent attention to detail.
  • Is ideally proficient in Revit (Twinmotion experience is an advantage).
  • Is enthusiastic, proactive and keen to learn.
  • Has an interest in AI workflows
  • Enjoys contributing to a positive studio culture.
  • Is eager to engage with the wider architectural profession and industry.

Our Studio

Aukett Swanke is based in London’s Shoreditch in a studio building shared by a community of designers and construction professionals.

With studio spaces spread across three levels, and two floors of communal meeting and social spaces, the building actively supports our collaborative and collegiate design culture.

Alongside this, a programme of events including masterclasses, open presentation sessions, CPDs, weekly staff breakfasts and studio updates encourages communication and open dialogue.
