We have previously completed a full refurbishment of the exterior and interior of the building in 2007 to create a range of one, two and three bed apartments.

Designed originally as ‘artisans dwellings’ by Horace Jones and completed in 1875, St Andrews House is Grade II listed and is the oldest remaining example of purpose built public housing in London and one of the oldest schemes in Britain.

Typical apartment plan

Our commission was as Architects and Interior Designers for a full internal refurbishment of the 27 apartments together with improved design and complete replacement of all MEP services, aiming to give the Client a path to zero carbon.

The all electric building with air source heat pump and MVHR MEP solutions provides comfort cooling, heating and high quality internal environments to enhance well being.

The interiors of St Andrews House aim to be grounding and sophisticated. A palette of warm colours and rich contrasting textures create a relaxed yet sumptuous atmosphere, beautifully crafted.

Special consideration was given to the sourcing and composition of all finishes and materials, with a focus on the wellbeing of guests.

Low toxin, low VOC and recycled and recyclable materials and responsibly sourced suppliers are being specified, from substrates through to finishes, furniture and accessories.

The choice of timeless, authentic furniture pieces combined with carefully designed custom joinery and high quality soft furnishings creates a ‘home from home’ for Anglo American De Beers guests.

The project completed in 2022.
